It started at
our own house.
Long before Wheaton Lighting was a business, it was a habit. Every December we went a little overboard — more strands, more rooflines, more of everything — because our family loves this season down to our bones. The lights were never really the point. The point was the decorating together, the debate over where the last strand should go, and the moment we flipped the switch and stood in the driveway looking up. Those afternoons became some of our favorite memories as a family.
Then one evening my son asked me, "Dad, why don't you help other people do this?"
I didn't have an answer. The next season, I found one. Wheaton Lighting grew out of that one question — the idea that the feeling we'd built in our own front yard was something we could give to other families, up and down the streets of Wheaton, Glen Ellyn, and the towns around them.
We still hang every strand the way we hang our own — and we still handle all of it, from design and installation to January removal and storage. Because for us, that's where it started, and that's still what it's about.
